Chili-cyclopsweb

28 contestants compete for the best chili title. It was loud, it was fun, it was crowded, and there was A LOT of chili. Some were very creative and some stayed on the traditional route. As for me, I had a blast running around and tasting everything. I had no idea of all the different ingredients people could think up of to put in their recipe.

I went to Sunrise Mart, a Japanese supermarket in the East Village. They have the cutest packages and snacks!! Check out these mini oreo-like snacks. I figured smaller is better, less consumption, less calories. BUT NO, I was SO SO SO wrong! I ended up eating the entire thing by myself. Those little suckers are addictive.

Another unique and kind of cool snack I came across is this chocolate bar. I got it from a friend who went to the chocolate show this year at the Metropolitan Pavillion on  w. 18th street. They gave out testers to try and you can purchase right there if you’d like. She ended up going home with 10 bars! It’s bacon chocolate with pop rocks and sea salt. It doesn’t sound good at all, BUT I gave it a shot and ended up finishing the bar.  Those different flavors mixed really well together. The pop rocks are cool, the insides of your mouth just fizzles even after devouring the chocolate.

I am really catching on to this concept of sweet and savory products, although, not fully converted. I will not go out and seek for it. If it makes its way to me then I will try it. If it really blows my mind then I will make sure I keep an available inventory of it at home, but that has yet to happen.

Every year our group of girlfriends get together for Thanksgiving dinner. This year is, by far, the best and most creative one!! Since it was held a week before the actual date, it will be very hard for the other dinners to outshine this one.

Friday morning sucks. Most people think, “TGIF” whoo hoo! The weekend is finally here. But, if you were out late night Thursday, you will feel like feces coming in the office at 7:30am, even if it is a Friday.

My morning was a bit hectic with a few meetings and new projects to work on. Luckily some guys from the office ordered breakfast pizza. Time sort of flies, and by early afternoon it’s looking gloomy outside and very very cloudy. (my desk is right next to the window, so I have awesome view; one of the many perks here!)

I get a phone call saying that I have a package that came in….the odd thing about it is that they said “and it’s from hot sauce world.” My response: WHAT?????? HOT SAUCE WORLD?? WHAT IS THAT? I’m not even expecting packages. So I go to pick it up, and the box reads: To: Annie, From: Hot Sauce World. I rip open the box with another colleague who is also very curious and confused. And there it was. Hot, spicy things from Hot Sauce World.

What a pleasant surprise. So, the lesson learnt here is that if you know anyone who likes spicy foods, send them a surprise package from http://www.hotsauceworld.com. It will totally make their day.
