The Italian restaurant that does it all. Food and service are phenomenal. Whether you want to bring a date, your family, friends, or just a drink and dinner at the bar…this restaurant is suitable for ALL occasions.

I walk by Belvedere at least twice a day and am on first name basis with the owners, Oso and Dino. They are my favorite people in the neighborhood for so many reasons. One, they are such sweethearts, making sure I am fed good food. Two, they always pick what wine to have, and three, they are the funniest, and most genuine people I’ve come across. Murray Hill has a lot to offer, but Belvedere is truly a diamond in the sand.

Everything is eff’ing good. I don’t normally stick to getting the same dishes anywhere I go because I have this rare disease, where, I just HAVE to try everything. But, the beef carpaccio is always one of the starters I have to have whenever I go. My friends who don’t eat any raw meat, end up loving the carpaccio here.

Another item off the menu that I always end up having every single time is the Tiramisu. Again, I personally am not a fan of tiramisu but it is fantastic here. Even when you are stuffed to the point of unbuckling your pants and about to explode; one taste of that tiramisu will keep you going. The amazing thing is that even after having the dessert, you don’t feel any fuller than you did before dessert. THAT’S hard to do and THAT’S how perfect the tiramisu is. Even, my pastry friend, Liz, was blown away with how perfect it is. (Initially, I was hesitant to say that it’s the best I’ve had since I’m not a Tiramisu lover- BUT I AM SAYING IT NOW, IT’S THE BEST I’VE EVER HAD).

Lastly, what’s good food, without great service. Belvedere will treat you like family. The service here is impeccable and is what makes them stand out. Even if the food sucks, (far from it) I would come back just for the service. The equation that makes a restaurant successful equals food+service+atmosphere- and they have it all!

Ozo and Dino are the owners, the host, the waiters, and the chefs. I love love love this place!

Starters…

Carpaccio- thinly sliced raw filet mignon with arugola and cheese. I get this regularly & I used to be a raw meat virgin.

Baked & Stuffed Clams- if it's not on the menu, test your luck and ask for it. It might be your lucky day!

Grilled Portabella in balsamic- simply tasty.

…moving on to the meals after the starters

Veal Chop- unbelieveably tender & juicy. Melts in your mouth (How many times have you heard that phrase?!? But it's true in this case)

Linguini Pescatore- shrimp, mussels, clams, scallops, & squid. Perfect Perfect Perfect!

Carbonara- italian bacon egg and parmigiano. Great for creamy lovers.

Gnocchi Quattro Formaggi- potato dumplings in a four cheese sauce. Cheesy goodness.

Lobster Ravioli- with shrimp scattered on top.

Veal Shank over rice- Bursting with flavor & the meat easily sheds off the bone.

Tilapia- they have several other fish dishes. My favorite is the Branzino- whole fish fillet at your table or kitchen. Unfortunately I dont have a photo.

Costolette Di Agnello Ascottadito- rack of lamb, broiled.

Infamous Tiramisu

After working on the pictures for this post, I am now salvating over them. I don’t think I’ve admit that in any of my previous posts, but damn! I am working up an appetite and craving their food again.
