The Breslin for LAMB BURGERS!

The Breslin recently opened in the Ace Hotel in Flatiron. It’s absolutely gorgeous in there. I stumbled upon its review because of its lamb burger. Yes, that’s right….—> L A M B.
I’ve had a variety of burgers in my life. All beef, turkey, veggie, soy chicken, salmon, and even a turtle burger. That’s a pretty decent list of burgers that I’ve ever tried. Just to add, I didn’t order the turtle burger. I was extremely against it, but a friend had ordered it and I took a bite. That was a few years ago at Cayman Islands. But I can still remember that one bite. It was weird, soft and mushy. I will probably never do that again.
But, this is about the lamb burger. I’ve never heard of it until recently. I started to grow fond of lamb in the past year or so. Lamb burgers are such a huge trend now. I’ve even heard of places serving lamb sliders. It was my first time having one, and although the bread was perfect, the burger was excessively oily, a bit salty and really gamey.
The Breslin does not take reservations and caters to first come first serve. I went on a Monday night around 8pm and it was packed! A table for four was 1.5-2 hours wait. The bar area was also jam packed. People everywhere! So I got a glass of wine and waited for a space to open up at the bar. About 45 minutes later two seats opened up, and in about another 30 minutes a table by the bar was free.
Overall, the space is beautiful. Vibe was good, and people were nice. It was a little too dark but seemed to go perfectly with the décor. The menu is interesting. Two things we didn’t understand were “Scrumpets” and “Pork Scratchings”. The first is lamb jerky breaded and fried. The second is similar to pork rinds. Terrine boards included meats such as guinea hen, rabbit and pork.
