Cookie Takedown
What a fun night trekking to Brooklyn. The first time I went to the Bell house was for the Chili Takedown. It was so much easier transporting via car, especially in a punch buggie red! This time two chicas and myself journey out there by train after the crazy snow storm. Manhattan streets were cleared in less than 24 hours, but as soon as we hit Brooklyn…we were hiking up and down snow piles! Worth it? Every bite.
It’s was so much fun to see 30 amateur bakers come out with their cookies, full with spirit and excitement. The three of us were starving and chow down a shit load of cookies. Instead of being hungry, now we are hungry AND nauseous. One of us was way too hyper on a sugar high. (She’s obviously an amateur sweet tooth who never eats sweets….LOSER! aka Soon to be EX roommate) I think at one point she was spastic and could not stop fidgeting. Quite entertaining, until it got annoying.
Nothing really stood out that impressed me, creatively that is. There were cookies made with ginger, pretzels, bacon, sea salt, crème, and one even with nacho cheese. Some were spiked, like the Whoopi pie. Does that even qualified as a cookie?? Others were powdered, and some drizzled sauce on them with flavors such as espresso, caramel, and coconut.
My vote went to the oreo chocolate chip hybrid. The other two voted for the traditional gingerbread cookie.
