Antique Garage
The first time I came here was for a birthday party a few years ago. The space used to be an auto garage, transformed into a local hot spot in 2003. We had the best seats in the house on the 2nd floor, loft like, and seated in a table for 20 ladies (since it was an all girls party for the birthday goddess). I’ve recently come back for a couple of brunches with that same lucky lady who first introduced me to this gem.
Located in the heart of Soho, Antique Garage is far from pretentious. The cuisine is Mediterranean and they have different live jazz bands to add to the atmosphere. I love the beautifully exposed brick walls, the antiques hanging around, and the gi-normous chandelier hanging in the center of the room. ALSO, there is an amazing long wooden table in the middle of the room (where I’ve yet to sit on). It’s great for large crowds in an intimate setting or just front row seats to watch the band. This spot is pretty low key and great for a table of 2, 4, 6 or more. Great, great, GREAAAT SPOT.
Another plus is that the staff is really nice and accommodating. Since, I’m so chatty, restaurants usually want to get rid of me, but I didn’t feel rushed here at all. They let us take our time to chat away. We even met the couple seated next to us. They were so cool and cute together.
Conclusion: It was fun and the food was good. The menu offers a variety of things to try (which is exactly how I like to eat). Definitely go for the pizette!

Grilled Chicken Panini with chipotle aioli, kashkaval cheese & tomato. Served w/salad and potatoes.”

Sucuklu Yumurta two sunnyside up eggs cooked with turkish cured beef sausage.

Prosciutto Pizette grilled flatbread topped with gorgonzola cheese, black olives, and tomatoes, finished with arugula & prosciutto di parma. (The picture quality sucks but don’t let it stop you from trying-this pizette is really good!)

Grilled Turkish Meatballs mixture of ground beef & lamb seasoned with turkish spices, served with white kidney bean salad.

Usual live band spot.

In the front, on top of brick wall. Pretty!

The garage door- it comes up just like one.
